ABOUT LIBBY

Artist Libby Davidson has been illustrating Vermont's landscapes and wildlife for 20 years, working primarily in pen and ink and watercolor.

Her most comprehensive illustration project has been for the book Wetland, Woodland, Wildland: A Guide to the Natural Communities of Vermont, published by The Nature Conservancy of Vermont and Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife, from which she has created a series of limited edition prints and note cards. Other books that she has illustrated include Wild Adventures: A Guidebook of Activities for Building Connections with Others and the Earth and Life in the Cold, a winter ecology textbook published by the University Press of New England.

Over the years, her illustrations have appeared in publications for the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources, Vermont Conservation Commission, Wild Earth magazine, and several community newspapers.

Libby has also created several large scale murals. She has painted the backdrop for a 35' long wetland diorama as well as background habitat displays for the Birds of Vermont Museum (http://www.birdsofvermont.org) in Huntington, VT. She has recently added a fall migration mural, as well as a backdrop for Bob Spear's life-sized carving of a Wild Turkey. More of Libby's murals can be found at Dr. Dan Beisiegel's orthodontics office in Colchester, VT, where she has created the effect of a Vermont countryside, including a 3-dimensional maple tree painted on a central column and spreading onto the ceiling of the waiting room.

Libby lives in Colchester with her husband, Rich, and children.
